DIET (nutrition) ..... YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT! Eat junk, BE junk. Eat healthy, BE healthy.
Fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, seeds, spices
More greens, less meat A chicken breast has no more micronutrient value than a piece of white bread If it says 'diet' or 'lowfat, it's as bad or worse for you Lowfat usually means more sugar Fat does not make you fat, sugar does Processed and fast food are the devil Boxed meals, lunchmeat, burgers and dogs, pizza, donuts, canned crap, French fries, soda Artificial products... sweeteners, oils, can't be digested
Somehow, food has become protein, carbs, and fats
Food is vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytochemicals, macronutrients, and MICRONUTRIENTS There are other sources of protien besides meat Greens, legumes (beans), nuts EMPTY CALORIES...... Snickers bar has 300, McDonalds small fries...230 calories, KFC chicken breast....360 NUTRIENT DENSE CALORIES...1 cup raw spinach...7 calories, 1 cup raw mushrooms...15 calories, 1 serving raw baby carrots...30 calories, 1 cup fresh strawberries....52 calories
An average person almost can't consume 2000 calories of good, healthy food. It's about temporarily satisfying your taste buds, or living a long and healthy life.
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ATAXIA?
Nothing but everything....IF you want to put obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. on top of your ataxia, the choice is yours.

EXERCISE...IT'S ALL ABOUT MOVING
You don't need a gym membership or lots of equipment
YOU NEED BASIC DAILY ACTIVITY!!! Do what you can safely....Walk, swim, bike, stretch, clean house, mow lawn, shovel snow, play with your dog, wiggle fingers and toes, laugh out loud, etc. Lean on a wall, hold a chair, sit down, lay down YOGA FOR DISABLED AND CHAIR YOGA....Most people in a wheelchair can do it!!! Reasons and Excuses are very closely related Exercise improves your outlook and attitude
HEALTHY DIET AND EXERCISE CONTRIBUTE TO
Ataxia sux...no debate about it....don't make it worse than it is
YOU have more control over your ataxia than you think People aren't looking and judging as much as you think...you're not that important in their lives If they are pointing...WHO CARES? It's on them, not you Do you wake up dreading the day, or looking for a way to improve? No one controls your attitude but YOU!!! LOTS of stuff is irritating...CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY!
